Copper Mountain Technologies SC7540

The Copper Mountain Technologies SC7540 is a 2-port, 75 Ohm USB Vector Network Analyzer for S-parameter measurements from 100 kHz to 4 GHz. This computer-controlled instrument pairs an RF measurement module with external PC processing via USB, delivering laboratory and production-grade performance without the cost and complexity of standalone systems. The SC7540 captures all four S-parameters (S11, S21, S12, S22) with 1 Hz frequency resolution and 24 µs measurement speed per point. Dynamic range reaches 133–137 dB typical at 10 Hz IF bandwidth, supported by a noise floor of −132 to −75 dBm/Hz and 46 dB directivity. Output power spans −50 to +10 dBm with 0.05 dB resolution. The instrument supports linear, logarithmic, and segmented frequency sweeps, power sweeps, and time-domain analysis with embedding/de-embedding and Automatic Fixture Removal. Measurement bandwidth adjusts from 1 Hz to 300 kHz. Up to 16 logical channels and 16 traces per channel enable parallel test configurations. Test points range from 2 to 200,001 per measurement. Housed in a compact 297 mm × 160 mm × 44 mm chassis weighing 1.7 kg, the SC7540 operates on 9–15 V DC or 110–240 V AC, consuming 21 W. N-type female connectors ensure standard RF connectivity. The S2 software application runs on Windows 7+ and Linux, with programmable automation via Python, C++, LabVIEW, MATLAB, and .NET. Operating temperature is 5–40 °C.
