The Elgar AT8000A-32V MOD is a configurable modular DC power system designed for automated test equipment (ATE) and laboratory applications requiring programmable and precise power outputs. This system chassis can house a combination of DC power supply modules and DC electronic load modules, allowing for flexible system configurations within a single 19-inch rackmount unit. It supports expansion beyond a single chassis to accommodate larger channel counts and higher total power requirements. The AT8000A series is engineered for MATE and CIIL programmability, offering remote control via an IEEE-488 GPIB interface, as well as local control through a front-panel keyboard.

**System Configuration and Expandability:**

* **High-Density Mainframe:** The 5-1/4-inch high mainframe can accommodate up to six independent channels of either linear DC power or DC electronic loads.
* **Modular Design:** Utilizes interchangeable DC power supply modules and DC electronic load modules, allowing for customized configurations.
* **Paralleling Capability:** DC power modules can be paralleled within a chassis to deliver up to 1200W from a single unit.
* **Multi-Chassis Expansion:** The system can be expanded to a total of 16 independent channels across multiple chassis, controlled via a single GPIB address, potentially reaching up to 19.2 kW.
* **Master/Slave Architecture:** Supports master and slave chassis configurations for expanded channel counts and centralized control. A master chassis typically includes the GPIB interface and programmer, controlling one or more slave chassis.

**Power Module Specifications (32V Modules):**

* **Output Voltage:** Up to 32V DC per module.
* **Output Current:** For 32V modules, the typical current output is 6.25A.
* **Power Output:** Individual power modules are rated at 200W.
* **Paralleled Power:** By paralleling power modules, a single chassis can deliver up to 1200W.

**Electrical Characteristics:**

* **Input Voltage Range:** ±10% of nominal value.
* **Input Frequency Range:** 45 Hz to 10,000 Hz for AC Power Sources. (Note: The AT8000A-32V MOD is a DC power module, input specs relate to the AC input to the mainframe.)
* **Maximum Ripple and Noise (Voltage Mode):**
* 1.5 millivolts RMS or 0.01% of rated output voltage, whichever is greater, from 20 Hz to 100 kHz.
* For master-slave configurations, 5 millivolts RMS or 0.01% of rated output voltage, whichever is greater, from 20 Hz to 100 kHz.
* 15 millivolts peak-to-peak or 0.05% of rated output voltage, whichever is greater, as measured from 20 Hz to 200 MHz.
* For master-slave configurations, 15 millivolts peak-to-peak or 0.1% of rated output voltage, whichever is greater, from 20 Hz to 20 MHz (typical).
* **Line Regulation:** +0.25% at full load for a ±10% change in input line voltage.
* **Load Regulation:** +1% from no load to full load over the full frequency range and ±10% input range. Adjustable to better than 0.1% for specific load conditions.
* **Gain Stability:** ±0.25% for 24 hours at constant line, load, and temperature.
* **Resolution:**
* For modules < 100V: 10 mV and 10 mA, or 1 part in 3972, whichever is less. * For modules ≥ 100V: 10 mV and 10 mA. * The resolution for 7 VDC modules is 1.76 mV. * **Output Protection:** Overcurrent sensing and overvoltage protection with SCR crowbar shutdown are standard. * **Optional Features:** Polarity switching relays are optional, allowing for positive and negative polarity programming without external wiring changes.**Interfaces and Control:*** **Remote Programming:** IEEE-488 GPIB interface for remote control. * **Programming Languages:** Supports ABLE (Atlas Based Language Extension) and CIIL (Control Interface Intermediate Language) for MATE applications. * **Local Control:** Front-panel keyboard and display for local programming and status monitoring. * **Readback Capability:** Built-in test option provides readback capability for voltage and current readings on DC power modules, Auxiliary Drive Modules (ADMs), and electronic DC loads. * **Sense Terminals:** Programmable voltage and current with remote sense terminals.**Physical Characteristics:*** **Chassis Dimensions:** 19-inch wide rackmount chassis, 5-1/4 inches high. * **Input Circuit Breaker:** Front panel input circuit breaker for protection and power switching.**Operational Modes and Capabilities:*** **Modes of Operation (for Load Modules):** Constant current, constant voltage, constant resistance, and transient operation. * **Short Circuit:** Available from the front panel or GPIB. * **Auxiliary Drive Modules (ADMs):** Available to control external bulk supplies or loads as if they were internal modules.Why Choose Aumictech for ELGAR AT8000A-32V MOD?
