The Keithley 706 Scanner is a modular switching mainframe for automated testing and data acquisition. It accommodates up to 10 plug-in scanner cards, delivering up to 100 2-pole channels at full capacity. IEEE-488 bus control enables programmed operation within ATE systems. The 706 supports daisy-chain expansion to four additional units, reaching 500 2-pole channels on a single IEEE address. Selectable scan rates span 10 milliseconds to 999.999 seconds. Fifteen internal programs configure addressing, settling time, relay setups, digital I/O control, date format, scan sequences, pole configurations, and master/slave operation. Front-panel controls manage scan sequences and rates. The unit features a battery-backed real-time clock for time-dependent procedures and operates in single-pass, continuous, and manual scan modes between selectable channels. Matrix configuration is supported with compatible matrix scanner cards.
