The Abaco Systems ICS-1650/001 is a PCI Express (PCIe) x4 high-speed analog-to-digital converter (ADC) card designed for advanced signal processing and data acquisition applications. It offers four 12-bit analog input channels, each capable of simultaneous sampling at up to 250 MHz. This enables continuous data acquisition at rates exceeding 200 MHz on all four channels, making it suitable for demanding applications such as Software Defined Radio (SDR), diagnostic/medical imaging, radar, and signal intelligence. The card features a high-bandwidth PCIe x4 interface, delivering a net payload data rate of up to 1.25 GBytes/sec, which is designed to match the increased I/O capabilities of modern multi-core CPUs and PCIe connections. For users requiring higher channel counts, up to four ICS-1650 cards can be synchronized.

The integrated user-programmable Xilinx Virtex-5 SX95T FPGA provides significant onboard processing power for signal processing tasks, with a second Virtex-5 FPGA dedicated to system control. This architecture allows the primary FPGA to be almost entirely dedicated to customer application code. The card also includes 16 MBytes of QDR II SRAM for buffering or scratchpad use. Its design is compatible with small form factor motherboards, including Micro ATX systems, addressing the need for higher-performance solutions in space-constrained environments. A Hardware Development Kit (HDK) is provided to support customer DSP development for the signal processing FPGA using the Xilinx ISE toolset. Software Development Kits (SDKs) for both Windows and Linux are also available.
