The IP-UNIDIG-I-D is a single-wide IndustryPack module delivering 24 differential digital I/O channels for industrial data acquisition and control systems. Each channel configures independently as input or output, with double-buffered outputs and programmable interrupt capability on any input line. The module supports Master/Slave synchronization across multiple IndustryPacks and meets EIA-422 and EIA-485 differential signaling standards with extended common-mode range.
– Technical Specifications
Digital I/O Architecture
• 24 differential channels, individually programmable as input or output
• Double-buffered outputs with optional input/output double-buffering for simulation compatibility
• External clock triggers with selectable polarity for buffer synchronization
• Any input line capable of generating interrupts
• Master/Slave mode: Master unit drives external clock source to I/O line 23; Slave units receive synchronization clock on I/O line 24
• Reset disables output drivers and double-buffering for consistent software state
Electrical Performance
• Input voltage range: +15 V / -5 V maximum
• Common-mode range: +12 V to -7 V (EIA-422/EIA-485 extended spec)
• Logic threshold: 1.25 V for direct CMOS/TTL compatibility
• Output sink current: 64 mA continuous per channel
• Output control: 24-bit register; writing “0” enables driver, “1” places line in high-Z state (power-up default)
• Termination: Socketed resistors across differential pairs; 100 Ω factory default, user-configurable
– Key Features
• EIA-422 and EIA-485 differential input compliance with extended common-mode immunity
• Per-channel output driver gating via dedicated control register
• Synchronization primitives for multi-module timing coherence
• TTL-level input threshold for legacy system integration
• Factory-installed 100 Ω termination resistors; user-replaceable socketed design
– Typical Applications
Multi-channel differential signal acquisition in industrial control, motor drive feedback, sensor interfacing, and real-time simulation environments requiring phase-locked I/O across distributed modules.
– Compatibility & Integration
Supported by Windows NT driver software and subroutine library. Single-wide IndustryPack form factor for mezzanine carrier board integration.
