The Abaco Systems VIPC618 is a 6U VMEbus IndustryPack carrier designed to integrate IndustryPack (IP) modules into VMEbus systems. It provides the necessary mechanical and electrical interface for these modules, supporting four single-wide or up to two double-wide IndustryPacks. This carrier facilitates the integration of various I/O, ID, memory, and interrupt functions from the IP modules into the VMEbus environment.

* Memory is mapped into either A24 or A32 space, supporting up to 8 MB of memory per IP slot
* **I/O Connectors:**
* Front-panel I/O through high-density shielded 50-pin subminiature D connectors (AMP LIMITE 0.050 series, AMP part number 749831-5)
* These connectors include latches for reliable connections in vibration environments
* Offer significant reduction of EMI emissions
* 64 lines of back-panel I/O via P2 (all 50 I/O pins from slot D and a configurable selection of 14 pins from slot C)
* **Power:**
* Provides fuse protection, RF filtering, and de-coupling capacitance on all IP power lines
* **Interrupts:**
* IndustryPack interrupts mapped 1:1 to VME IRQ levels by shunt or PLD selections
* The standard VIPC618 maps each IndustryPack interrupt line to a single VMEbus interrupt level
* Versions with custom PLD programming may be ordered with custom interrupt mappings
* Supports two interrupt channels per IP module
* **Memory:**
* Up to 8 MB of memory per slot
