The Abaco Systems / VMIC VMIVME-7452-303 is a single-slot VME storage module that integrates floppy and hard disk capabilities into VMEbus systems. This passive VMEbus board connects via P2 user-defined pins to deliver IDE interface signaling to a Single Board Computer, while drawing power and ground from the VMEbus backplane. The module supports flexible drive configurations: a 3.5-inch 1.44 Mbyte floppy drive, hard disk drive up to 18.0 Gbyte capacity, or both drives simultaneously. Optional Flash memory drive functionality is available. Connection to the SBC requires specific cable assemblies—the VMXC-3 for adjacent slot placement or VMXC-H for non-adjacent configurations. The VMIACC-0562 accessory enables conversion of P2 IDE and floppy signals to standard 40-pin and 34-pin headers for rear backplane integration.
