The VMIVME-Repeat S-485 is a slave repeater link module engineered to extend VMEbus serial communication across distributed chassis environments. Installed in slot 1 of the slave chassis, it partners with the VMIVME-Repeat M-485 master module to regenerate VMEbus signals and maintain data integrity over extended distances. The two-board architecture isolates bus segments, preventing signal degradation and enabling scalable system expansion up to 19 x 19 slots using 20-slot backplanes in star configuration.
