The Agilent HP 8482A is a thermocouple-based RF power sensor engineered for precise average power measurements across 100 kHz to 4.2 GHz. This rugged instrument delivers measurement accuracy of ±0.5% (at 23 ± 3 °C) over a dynamic range from 1 µW to 100 mW, making it suitable for broadband RF characterization in communications and industrial applications.
The sensor features a 50 ohm Type-N male connector and excellent SWR characteristics that minimize mismatch uncertainty. Each unit ships individually calibrated with NIST-traceable calibration factor data across its operating frequency band. Power linearity reaches ±3% at elevated input levels (+10 to +20 dBm) with negligible deviation across the -30 to +10 dBm range.
