The Keysight 34470A is a 7½-digit digital multimeter engineered for precision benchtop and system-level measurements. Built on patented Truevolt technology, it delivers DC voltage accuracy of 16 ppm (0.0016%) with ADC linearity of 0.00005%, eliminating measurement errors from noise and input bias currents. The instrument measures DC/AC voltage to 750 V, DC current from 1 µA to 10 A with picoampere resolution, AC current to 10 A, resistance to 1 GΩ using 2-wire and 4-wire methods, frequency, period, capacitance, and temperature via RTD/PT100, thermistor, and thermocouple inputs. True RMS AC voltage measurement spans 3 Hz to 300 kHz with 0.05% accuracy.
A 4.3-inch color display renders measurements as numbers, histograms, bar charts, trend charts, math functions, and statistics. Data logging and digitizing modes support trend analysis and transient capture. The 34470A acquires up to 50,000 readings/second at 4.5 digits, with maximum system speed of 50.118 kHz (19.953 µs aperture). Standard memory holds 50,000 readings; optional storage extends to 2 million. Auto-calibration compensates for temperature drift to maintain measurement integrity across operating conditions.
