The Agilent/Keysight 8569B is a high-performance spectrum analyzer for RF and microwave signal analysis from 10 MHz to 22 GHz internally, with external mixer capability extending coverage to 115 GHz. The instrument delivers displayed average noise levels of -110 dBm to -85 dBm (typical, 1 kHz RBW) and amplitude measurement range from -123 dBm to +30 dBm. Resolution bandwidths span 100 Hz to 3 MHz in 1, 3 sequence with ±15% accuracy. Frequency response varies by band, from ±1.2 dB (0.01–1.8 GHz) to ±2.5 dB (0.01–22 GHz). The CRT monochrome display presents dual traces with trace processing including Max Hold, digital averaging, and normalization. Center frequency accuracy is ±5 MHz or 0.2% of center frequency, whichever is greater, plus 20% of frequency span per division. Frequency stability achieves <100 Hz peak-to-peak residual FM over 0.1 sec with stabilization. A built-in limiter protects the analyzer below 1.8 GHz from signals exceeding +30 dBm maximum safe input power. An internal 100 MHz ±10 kHz calibrator output at -10 dBm ±0.3 dB supports measurement verification. Frequency spans range from 1 kHz to 500 MHz per division across the 1.7–22 GHz preselector band or in multiband sweep. The HP-IB interface enables semi-automatic operation via desktop computer control with direct access to trace data and settings, and supports direct digital plotter output without a controller.
