The Agilent/Keysight 89411A is an IF downconverter that extends vector signal analysis capabilities to RF and microwave frequencies. It converts a 21.4 MHz intermediate frequency output from an external receiver into a frequency range compatible with dedicated vector signal analyzers, enabling narrowband signal characterization across the full frequency span of connected microwave receivers.
– Technical Specifications
The 89411A interfaces with compatible analyzers including the 89410A, 89440A, and 89441A. When paired with the 89441A, the system delivers frequency coverage from DC to 2.65 GHz in scalar RF mode with spans up to 2648 MHz. Vector RF mode supports spans up to 7 MHz (8 MHz with option AYH) within the 2.65 GHz range. Vector baseband operation covers DC to 10 MHz.
Input and output impedance are selectable: 50 ohms, 75 ohms (with option 1D7 for minimum loss pads), or 1 megohm input impedance.
– Key Features
• IF downconversion from 21.4 MHz to analyzer input frequencies
• Dual-mode analysis: scalar for frequency-domain measurements; vector for phase and amplitude time-series capture
• Vector mode enables AM/FM/PM demodulation, time-selective analysis, and vector modulation analysis
• Phase and amplitude data processing supports narrow-resolution spectrum analysis and advanced modulation characterization
• Measurement update rates up to 60 per second on compatible analyzers
• Flexible input/output impedance configuration
– Typical Applications
Narrowband vector signal analysis at microwave frequencies. Receiver characterization and validation. Modulation analysis and demodulation measurements. Time-domain signal characterization requiring phase information.
– Compatibility & Integration
Direct compatibility with Agilent/Keysight 89410A, 89440A, and 89441A vector signal analyzers. Part of the 89400 Series family for research, development, and manufacturing applications.
