The Keysight E1738A is an environmental sensor module that measures air temperature, pressure, and humidity with high precision for laser calibration systems. It integrates with the Keysight 5530 Laser Calibration System via the E1736A USB Sensor Hub, automatically detecting and compensating for environmental changes that affect wavelength of light (WOL) in air. This real-time compensation maintains system accuracy and repeatability during optical measurements.
– Technical Specifications
The E1738A measures three environmental parameters across defined ranges:
• Air Temperature: 0 to 40 °C (32 to 104 °F) with ±0.1 °C (±0.2 °F) accuracy and 0.004 °C (0.007 °F) resolution
• Air Pressure: 70 to 110 kPa (10.2 to 16.0 psia) with ±80 Pa (±0.012 psi) accuracy and 5 Pa (0.001 psi) resolution
• Air Humidity: 10 to 90% with ±5% accuracy and 1% resolution
Accuracy specifications assume yearly calibration. The sensor delivers a 4-second refresh rate (typical) with a 5-minute time constant (typical). Power consumption is minimal: 2 mW typical, drawing +3.3 V at 0.6 mA average current or 6 mA maximum current.
– Key Features
• Compact form factor: Φ42 × 26 mm, 60 g total weight
• Magnetic base mount for secure positioning on ferrous surfaces
• Low-power operation optimized for continuous environmental monitoring
• ISO 17025 certified
– System Integration
The E1738A connects to the E1736A USB Sensor Hub via detachable sensor cables (E1739A/B/C/D series). Four cable lengths accommodate various installation geometries: 5 m, 10 m, 15 m, and 25 m options. Snap-on connectors enable quick sensor swaps and reconfiguration without breaking system integration.
