The Keysight J1409A OmniBER 725 Communications Performance Analyzer delivers specialized SONET/SDH testing and characterization for network components and systems. This instrument performs bit error rate (BER) testing, jitter generation and measurement, and overhead data analysis across multiple telecommunications rates—from 52 Mb/s through 2.5 Gb/s. It generates unframed Pseudo-Random Binary Sequence (PRBS) patterns and supports full SDH functionality at STM-16, STM-4, STM-1, and STM-0, plus complete SONET capability at OC-48, OC-12, OC-3, OC-1, STS-3, and STS-1. Jitter measurements conform to ITU-T O.171 and O.172 standards with high accuracy and repeatability. The analyzer includes payload concatenation support, full overhead access and analysis, and both optical and electrical interfaces. SmartSetup and SmartTest capabilities accelerate setup and test execution. Remote control operates via GPIB, LAN, or RS-232. Note: This is a discontinued product.
