The Agilent/Keysight N8482A is a thermocouple power sensor for average power measurements spanning 100 kHz to 6 GHz. It delivers ±0.52% linearity from −1 dBm to +15 dBm and ±0.80% from +15 dBm to +20 dBm, with integrated EEPROM calibration storage that automatically downloads to compatible power meters. The Type-N male connector and low noise floor (<114 nW maximum) enable precision RF and microwave power characterization with NIST-traceable accuracy.

– Key Features
• Embedded EEPROM stores calibration factors; eliminates manual entry during meter setup
• NIST-traceable calibration with high measurement accuracy
• Low mismatch uncertainty due to excellent SWR characteristics across operating range
• Two options available: Standard (−35 dBm to +20 dBm) and CFT (−30 dBm to +20 dBm with 8480A series compatibility)
– Typical Applications
• RF power amplifier characterization
• Microwave transmitter verification
• Component insertion-loss and gain measurements
• Network analyzer power calibration
– Compatibility & Integration
The N8482A integrates with Keysight P-Series (N1911A/12A), EPM-P Series (E4416A/17A), and EPM Series (N1913A/14A, E4418B/19B) power meters. Not compatible with 43x series, E1416A, N8262A, 5314x counters, or E7495x base station test sets. SCPI code support depends on option selection: Standard option supports E-Series sensors; CFT option supports 8480 series.
