The Amada Miyachi Unitek Miyachi Unibond II Power Supply (Model UB2) is a dual-mode constant power/constant voltage supply engineered for precision resistance welding in microelectronics assembly. The unit employs microprocessor control and a capacitor bank current source to deliver repeatable pulse welding with remote voltage sensing. Pulse amplitude adjusts continuously from 0.01 to 3.99 volts in 0.01-volt increments, while pulse duration is selectable via digital thumbwheel switches. Two feedback modes address different process requirements: Voltage Feedback Mode for direct control, and Voltage + Current Feedback Mode, which dynamically maintains constant power by adjusting pulse amplitude across weld resistances from 1 to 15 milliohms. The exclusive remote voltage sensing topology minimizes lead inductance effects, critical for fine-wire and ribbon bonding on microwave, flatpack, and thin-film/thick-film substrates. Compatible with Unitek parallel-gap weld heads (Models 40, 46, 86, 87, 127, 147), the supply works with Unibond and Unitip electrodes. Load resistance between output transformer terminals and welding load must not exceed 1.5 milliohms.
