The Corning MetroCor™ Optical Bare Fiber 4 KM is a non-zero dispersion-shifted single-mode optical fiber engineered for high-capacity DWDM transmission in metropolitan and regional networks. Operating within the EDFA window, this fiber delivers low negative dispersion across the C-band and L-band, significantly reducing the need for expensive dispersion compensation modules and extending optical signal reach. The result is lower network operating costs and extended performance from standard DM-DFB lasers without DCM support.
