The Cytec/AD Data Systems 56E Switching Matrix is a modular signal routing platform built on a motherboard backplane architecture. It supports up to 10,000 single or two-wire closures configured for matrix or switching applications. Control is available via remote latch/unlatch commands or optional manual front panel operation. The standard configuration includes a Control Chassis with 200 base latchpoints and 10 switch modules, both expandable. Expansion Chassis units scale capacity to 400 latchpoints and 20 modules per unit, enabling systems up to 1,000 latchpoints with one Standard and two Expansion Chassis.
