Equipment info

The Delta Digital Video SSC/623 Stroke-to-Video Scan Converter Chassis converts stroke-written video signals into standard raster video formats, enabling integration of legacy equipment—radar, sonar, spectrum analyzers, and heads-up display generators—with modern display and recording systems. The unit accepts stroke format, raster format, and mixed stroke/raster inputs through balanced or unbalanced ports, then outputs in RS-343 raster scan format with options for composite (RS-170/RS-343) or VGA video. Dynamic processing via stroke/raster control signals maintains proper location and intensity of both signal types within a single output video stream.

## Technical Specifications

**Input Signal Handling**
• Accepts two sets of vector (X, Y, Z) stroke inputs
• Processes stroke format, raster format, and mixed stroke/raster signals
• Supports balanced and unbalanced video input ports
• Dynamic stroke/raster control signal adjusts internal processing in real time

**Output Signal Formatting**
• Primary output: RS-343 raster scan format
• Alternative outputs: Composite (RS-170/RS-343) or VGA video

**Video Processing**
• Stroke-to-video scan conversion with advanced scaling algorithm
• Video mixing capability for scan-converted video with RS-343 composite sources
• Internal test pattern for verification and setup
• Adjustable decay rate selection for signal persistence control

**Control & Interface**
• Front panel controls: input select, gain, offset, polarity
• Front panel display for status and control indication
• RS-232 remote control with ANSI ‘C’ driver support

**Power**
• AC input via three-wire power cord (properly wired and grounded outlet required)
• Integrated AC input power supply module

## Key Features

• Mixed signal processing handles stroke and raster data simultaneously
• Advanced scaling maintains video quality during format conversion
• Flexible input/output port configuration for legacy and modern equipment
• Remote programmability via RS-232 for automated system integration
• Front panel accessibility for manual gain, offset, and polarity tuning

## Typical Applications

Radar display integration, sonar signal conversion, spectrum analyzer output processing, heads-up display generation, legacy-to-modern display system bridging.

## Compatibility & Integration

Balanced and unbalanced inputs accommodate diverse signal sources. RS-343, composite, and VGA outputs enable connection to contemporary displays and recording equipment. RS-232 control supports headless operation and system automation.
