The EXFO EPX500 is a high-speed optical receiver module for OC-48/STM-16 link testing at 2.488 Gbps within SONET/SDH networks. The module installs into any gnubi chassis—including EPX16 and EPX8 platforms—and occupies a single slot. Protocol switching between SONET and SDH occurs without system power down, with selectable payload mappings for each standard.
