The HP/Agilent 4263B is a precision LCR meter for impedance characterization from 100 Hz to 100 kHz. It delivers 0.1% basic accuracy across eleven measurement parameters—impedance magnitude, resistance, reactance, admittance, conductance, susceptance, capacitance, inductance, dissipation factor, quality factor, and phase angle. Measurement cycles complete in 25 ms typical, with contact verification in 5 ms per point, enabling high-throughput production testing.
The instrument accepts AC test signals from 20 mVrms to 1 Vrms in 5 mVrms steps and supports internal DC bias at 1.5 Vdc or 2.0 Vdc. Four-terminal pair measurement geometry eliminates lead and connection errors. Error correction includes open, short, and load calibration; cable length compensation spans 0 to 4 meters. A backlit 40×2 character LCD displays live AC voltage and current levels alongside measurement results.
Up to 10 test setups store in nonvolatile memory with instant recall. Flexible triggering—internal, manual, or external—supports handler integration via negative-logic isolated interface signals (HIGH/IN/LOW, No-Contact, EOM, Index, Alarm, Keylock, Ext. Trigger). HP-IB (GPIB) connectivity enables remote instrument control and automated data logging. Comparator functions with independent HIGH, IN, and LOW thresholds on primary and secondary parameters simplify inline pass/fail sorting.
Optional transformer measurement (Option 4263B-001) adds turns ratio, mutual inductance, and DC resistance characterization. Option 4263B-002 expands test frequency coverage to include 20 kHz.
