The HP/Agilent 6296A is a convection-cooled, half-rack DC power supply delivering 0–60 VDC at 0–3 A (180 W). Purpose-built for constant voltage and constant current laboratory and test applications, it combines precision 10-turn potentiometers with automatic CV-to-CC mode crossover. Floating output topology permits positive or negative sourcing. Load and line regulation reach 0.01% + 1 mV for voltage and 0.05% + 1 mA for current. Output noise is held to 500 µV rms (CV mode) and 3 mA rms (CC mode). Remote sensing and programming are supported, as are auto-series, auto-parallel, and auto-tracking configurations. Front and rear output terminals provide convenient access in confined benchtop or rack environments.
