The HP/Agilent 84814A is a peak power sensor engineered for precision envelope power measurements from 500 MHz to 40 GHz. Operating with a dynamic range of −32 dBm to +20 dBm (usable to −40 dBm), this sensor integrates Balanced Planar Doped Barrier diodes with a wideband, high dynamic range amplifier to deliver sub-5 nanosecond system risetime and outstanding measurement accuracy across demanding RF/microwave applications.
The sensor connects directly to compatible power analyzers via 2.4 mm male connector and automatically loads calibration data from onboard EEPROM, eliminating manual user calibration. Automatic temperature sensing and correction ensure stable performance across varying operating environments. Input impedance is 50 ohms with controlled return loss: SWR ≤ 1.25 from 500 MHz to 18 GHz, ≤ 1.35 from 18 GHz to 26.5 GHz, and ≤ 1.6 from 26.5 GHz to 40 GHz.
