The IFR 2030 is a signal generator delivering precise RF signal generation from 10 kHz to 1.35 GHz with 0.1 Hz frequency resolution. It supports AM, FM, and phase modulation with flexible modulation oscillators operating from 0.1 Hz to 500 kHz. Output power spans -144 dBm to +13 dBm with 0.1 dB resolution, and the instrument withstands reverse power up to 50 W at VSWR 5:1. An RF carrier on/off switch provides complete output control. FM capabilities include wideband operation at 10 MHz bandwidth, FM deviation to 1 MHz (up to 21 MHz) or 1% of carrier frequency, and both AC and DC-coupled modes with offset correction. Phase modulation reaches 10 radians across a 10 kHz bandwidth. AM operation reduces maximum output to +7 dBm at full depth. The instrument supports single, dual, composite, and dual composite modulation modes. Optional modules enable pulse modulation, GSM/PCN (GMSK Bt 0.3) with 270.833 kHz clock rate, avionics waveforms for VOR/ILS testing, and DME generation. Non-volatile memory stores instrument configuration. GPIB (IEEE-488.2) interface enables automated test system integration and remote operation.
