The ILX Lightwave MPS-8012 is a precision fiber optic source delivering stable optical power output for testing and characterization of single-mode fiber optic components and systems. Available in 1310 nm LED, 1550 nm LED, or 1550 nm Fabry-Perot laser configurations, this compact instrument provides fixed output power with exceptional short- and long-term stability. Output power is factory-set and user adjustment is not permitted. The MPS-8012 features FC/PC or FC/APC connectors (depending on configuration), GPIB remote control capability, and operates from standard 100–115 VAC or 220–240 VAC mains. Designed for laboratory and production environments, the instrument measures 9.0 × 5.6 × 2.6 inches and weighs 3.25 lbs. Operating temperature range is 0 °C to 40 °C. Classified as a Class 1 laser product. Note: This product is discontinued and obsolete. Technical support, manuals, repairs, and calibrations may no longer be available from the manufacturer.
