The Interface Technology 429A is an ARINC 429 Bus Analyzer engineered for real-time analysis, simulation, and monitoring of ARINC 429 data buses in aerospace and defense applications. The instrument captures, triggers, and records 32-bit ARINC 429 words across 8 channels with selectable data rates from 12.5 kbps to 100 kbps, supporting both low-speed and high-speed avionics networks. Built around a 48 MHz processor board, the 429A provides configurable label memory up to 256 words per channel and programmable FIFO depth to 512 words, with a 32 Kbyte record buffer storing up to 4,000 labels. Dual transmission rates, multiple trigger modes (pre-trigger, post-trigger, continuous, filtered), and 24-bit timestamping at 250 µs resolution enable precise event correlation and fault isolation. Input sensitivity spans ±6.7 V to ±13.0 V at 12k ohm impedance; output drives ±10 V into 70–80 ohm loads. The unit operates from 115 VAC at 50–440 Hz and integrates via GPIB interface with onboard 256 Kbytes each of non-volatile RAM and EPROM. Housed in a 2.8 lb standard gray case with optional Flight Line Yellow rubber case, the 429A supports odd or even parity selection and scales to label memories across all eight channels. Trigger update rates range from 1 ms to 65,535 ms, enabling both rapid capture and long-duration monitoring missions.
