The IOtech TempScan 1000 is a rack-mountable, high-speed scanning instrument for simultaneous acquisition of temperature and voltage data across numerous channels. It measures up to 992 channels when configured with expansion chassis and appropriate scanning modules, supporting standard thermocouple types (J, K, T, E, N, R, S, B, N14, N28) plus custom types, and programmable voltage ranges of ±10V, ±5V, ±1V, and ±100 mV. The system delivers 0.1 °C temperature resolution and voltage resolution down to 3.125 µV in the ±100 mV range. Onboard memory extends from 128 KB to 4 MB for extended data logging, with dual programmable scan rates supporting pre- and post-trigger sampling and event-triggered acceleration. A built-in real-time clock provides time and date stamping for trend monitoring. Communication options include IEEE 488, RS-232/422, and optional RS-232 to USB connectivity via adapter kit. The instrument features 32 TTL digital alarm outputs and 8 TTL-compatible digital inputs for system integration. ChartView software—a Windows-based utility—enables configuration and operation without programming. Channel-to-channel isolation reaches 500 VDC peak with compatible scanning modules. The TempScan 1000 operates on selectable AC power (105-125V or 210-250V) and supports stand-alone operation after disconnection from the host PC.
