Keithley 2000

The Keithley 2000 is a 6.5-digit digital multimeter engineered for high-performance benchtop and production testing. Built on proven high-speed, low-noise A/D converter technology, it delivers superior accuracy and measurement speed across voltage, current, resistance, frequency, and temperature measurement functions. The instrument supports internal trigger rates to 2000/s and external triggering to 500/s, enabling rapid data acquisition in multipoint scan/measure configurations with optional scanner cards.

## Technical Specifications

**DC Voltage:** 0.1 µV to 1000 V with 0.002% basic accuracy (90-day) and 1 MΩ ±2% input impedance. AC voltage spans 0.1 µV to 750 V RMS (1000 V peak), with linearity of ±(1 ppm reading + 2 ppm range) on the 10 V DC range.

**Current Measurement:** DC range 10 nA to 3 A; AC range 1 µA to 3 A. Both protected by 3 A, 250 V fuses with burden voltage <0.3 V rms on 1 A range and <1 V rms on 3 A range.

**Resistance:** 100 µΩ to 100 MΩ with 0.008% basic accuracy (90-day) and 1000 V input protection across all ranges.

**Frequency & Period:** Frequency measurement from 3 Hz to 500 kHz; period from 2 µs to 333 ms. Accuracy 0.01% ±(ppm of reading) with 1 s gate time.

**Temperature:** Supports J, K, and T-type thermocouples with Type J range –200°C to +260°C.

**Speed & Throughput:** Up to 2000 readings/second at 4.5 digits (internal buffer); 50 triggered readings/second at 6.5 digits over IEEE-488 bus; 55/s via RS-232 at 19.2k baud. Autoranging completes in <30 ms to 70 dB with 1 kΩ in LO lead

## Compatibility & Integration

Supports SCPI, Keithley 196/199, Fluke 8840A, and Fluke 8842A command sets. IEEE-488 interface enables multipoint scanning and integration with production test systems.
