The Keithley 8008 is a guarded test fixture for measuring volume and surface resistivities of solid materials. It delivers electrostatic shielding and insulation resistance measurements to 1 TΩ, supporting sample diameters from 64 mm to 102 mm and thicknesses to 3.2 mm. The fixture applies uniform 1-pound contact pressure on smooth, parallel samples and accommodates voltages to 1100 V. A hinged, light-tight cover with integrated lid switch activates the voltage disable input on compatible electrometers and Source Measure Units. The 8008 measures volume resistivity to 10^18 Ω-cm (0.1 cm thick samples) and surface resistivity to 10^17 Ω/square per ASTM procedures. Supplied with interlock cable, prototyping board, two input cables with 3-slot triax plugs, and 72 ferrite beads for custom DC test configurations.
