The Kepco ATE75-8M is a 75 V, 8 A programmable DC power supply delivering 500 W of output power. Designed for benchtop and system integration, it combines precision analog control with automatic voltage/current mode crossover, enabling accurate tracking of external voltage signals or variable resistance inputs. The unit features dual 10-turn front panel potentiometers for high-resolution local programming, complemented by remote analog control via 0-10 V signal input and digital control through IEEE-488 interfaces. Two front panel meters display real-time voltage and current monitoring, while mode indicators confirm active operating state.
The ATE75-8M employs a linear architecture with a fully dissipative NPN pass transistor section driven by high-gain IC amplifiers. User-selectable slow and fast operating modes accommodate different application requirements: slow mode optimizes performance for constant voltage applications, while fast mode delivers rapid response to programmed instructions and load transients. Output impedance in voltage mode measures 0.19 mΩ series resistance and 2 µH series inductance. Current mode operation exhibits 150 kΩ shunt resistance with 1,200 µF shunt capacitance.
Stabilization performance under slow mode operation includes source voltage effect of typically <0.0005% Eo maximum and 8-hour drift of <0.005% Eo maximum. Load effect in voltage mode remains <0.01% Io maximum. Current mode stabilization achieves source voltage effect of <0.01% Io maximum with 8-hour drift of <0.01% Eo maximum and load effect of 0.02% Io maximum. Ripple and noise performance in slow mode: RMS <0.1 mV, peak-to-peak <1 mV.
Input voltage selection accommodates four ranges: 95–113 V AC, 105–125 V AC, 190–226 V AC, or 210–250 V AC at 47–65 Hz. Programmable overvoltage crowbar protection guards against transient overvoltage conditions. The unit mounts in three-quarter rack format with low-noise cooling fans and Class 1 safety compliance utilizing protective earthing. Rear connector provides programming interface access.
