The Keysight 34980A is a modular multifunction switch and data acquisition unit designed for automated test, design verification, and data logging applications. Its eight-slot mainframe accepts any combination of 21 plug-in modules, enabling customized configurations without the cost premium of VXI or PXI systems. The unit integrates a 6½-digit DMM, general-purpose and RF switching, digital I/O, analog outputs, and frequency counter functions into a single platform capable of handling signal routing to 26.5 GHz, voltage measurements to ±300 V, and switching speeds up to 1,000 channels/second.
