The Keysight N6952A Advanced Power System is a single-output, programmable DC power supply rated at 1000 W delivering 0–40 V DC at 0–25 A. Built on the VersaPower architecture, it combines precise voltage and current programming with DMM-grade measurement accuracy, transient settling in 100 µs, and command processing under 2 ms. The unit executes test routines up to 100× faster than conventional supplies, with voltage and current programming resolution of 14 bits and measurement resolution of 18 bits. Measurement functions include power, peak power, watt-hour, and amp-hour calculations at adjustable rates.
Standard two-quadrant operation provides 10% rated current sinking capability for continuous smooth transitions between source and sink modes with programmable current limits and waveforms. The optional N7909A Power Dissipater Unit enables full two-quadrant functionality. Programming accuracy reaches ±(0.05% + 20 mV) for voltage and ±(0.2% + 50 mA) for current. Load regulation stays within ≤0.05% + 10 mV (voltage) and ≤0.2% + 10 mA (current). Output ripple and noise measure ≤3 mV rms or ≤50 mV peak-to-peak with efficiency ≥85% at full load.
The N6952A accepts 100–240 VAC input (50/60 Hz) and mounts in a single 1U rack space. Its 4.3-inch color LCD provides local control and readout. Communication interfaces include GPIB (IEEE-488), LAN (LXI-Core), and USB for seamless integration into automated test systems. Up/down programming speed reaches 500 µs standard or 6× faster with Option 303. Line regulation holds ≤0.02% + 10 mV (voltage) and ≤0.05% + 10 mA (current).
