The L-Com BT-CAT5-R0512 is a Gigabit Ethernet Power over Ethernet splitter/tap that decouples power and data signals from a single PoE source, enabling non-PoE devices to operate in 802.3af-compliant networks. Operating at 10/100/1000 Mbps, it transmits both signals up to 328 feet (100 meters) over standard Cat5 cabling and supports both PoE Mode A (network switch sourced) and Mode B (midspan/injector sourced) configurations. The device separates incoming 48V DC power into user-selectable output levels—5V DC @ 2A, 7.5V DC @ 1.5A, 9V DC @ 1.2A, or 12V DC @ 1A—via DIP switch configuration, while maintaining independent data connectivity. Installation at the end device eliminates dependency on adjacent AC power, simplifying deployments of IP cameras, wireless access points, and other networked equipment in remote or constrained locations.
