The LeCroy PE080UIA-X is a G2x4 multi-lead probe pod designed for direct PCB signal access during high-speed serial protocol analysis. It captures PCI Express traffic with minimal signal perturbation using high-impedance probes, enabling engineers to debug and verify PCIe 3.0 link behavior across multiple lane configurations and data rates.
– Technical Specifications
Protocol & Data Rates
• PCI Express 3.0 support: 2.5 GT/s, 5.0 GT/s, 8.0 GT/s
• Backward compatible with PCIe 2.0 and 1.0a data rates
• SRIS (Separate Reference Independent Supply) clocking supported
Probing Capability
• Each pod supports up to four lanes (eight differential pairs)
• Lane widths: x1 to x16 configurations
• x8 lane width requires two pods; x16 requires four pods
• High-impedance probe design minimizes loading effects
Physical & Electrical
• Extender coax cable length: 294 mm (11.6″)
• Flex-tip connector length: 71 mm (2.8″)
• Two 294 mm extender coax cables per lane connection
• Direct connection to PCB signal traces via flex-tip connectors
– Key Features
• Multi-lane probing with configurable pod combinations for x8 and x16 analysis
• SRIS clocking support for reduced cabling complexity
• High-impedance measurement minimizes signal integrity degradation
• Compatible flex-tip connectors attach directly to transmit and receive pairs on PCB
– Typical Applications
• PCIe 3.0 link training and data transfer verification
• Multi-lane protocol debugging across x1, x4, x8, and x16 configurations
• Signal integrity assessment at protocol layer
• Real-time capture and analysis of PCIe bus traffic during hardware development
– Compatibility & Integration
Supported Analyzers
• Teledyne LeCroy Summit T3-8 Protocol Analyzer
• Teledyne LeCroy Summit T3-16 Protocol Analyzer (required for x16 analysis with four pods)
Pods connect via multi-lead interface to Summit protocol analyzers. Individual lane connections use extender coax cables with flex-tip connectors for secure attachment to PCB traces.
