The MKS Instruments 919 Hot Cathode Ionization High Vacuum Controller delivers accurate pressure measurement and system control across eight decades of vacuum range. This benchtop instrument combines a large green LED display with front-panel controls for direct access to all operational functions, making it suitable for integration into existing high vacuum systems without extensive modification.
– Technical Specifications
• Measurement Range: 10⁻² to 10⁻¹⁰ Torr
• Display: Large green LED with exponential notation showing pressure, sensitivity, protection, and set point values
• Status Indicators: LEDs for filament, degas, and set point activation
• Set Points: Two nonvolatile memory locations for reliable automation
• Physical Configuration: Half-rack mountable with rear cable connections
– Key Features
• Adjustable filament burnout protection prevents sensor damage from over-pressure or electrical faults
• Nonvolatile set points retain control parameters through power cycles
• Remote enable capability for filament and degas functions allows external automation
• Front-panel mounted power switch, display push-buttons, and adjustment potentiometers for set point, protection, and sensitivity tuning
• Wide measurement span simplifies operation across diverse vacuum regimes without range switching
– Safety & Electrical Requirements
The 919 contains lethal voltages when powered on, with high voltage present in both the connecting cable and sensor assembly. Proper grounding through the power cord’s grounding conductor is mandatory for safe operation. Service and repairs require qualified personnel only. Operating personnel must not remove instrument covers. Use of appropriate fuses and electrical fittings is essential. Operation in explosive atmospheres is not recommended unless specifically certified.
– Compatibility & Integration
The Series 919 Controller operates with separately purchased sensor assemblies. Cable connections are located at the rear panel for clean bench integration. Documentation including user manuals, instruction manuals, and operation and maintenance guides is available for the 919 Series.
