The Newport 1930-C is a single-channel optical power meter for precise measurement of optical power and energy across scientific, R&D, and production environments. It accepts Newport 918/818 series detectors spanning 190 nm to 1800 nm, delivering power measurements from tens of femto-Watts to 2.5 W with seven gain ranges and energy measurements from 5 nJ to 20 J. The instrument supports relative ratio measurements and statistical analysis—minimum, maximum, max-min, mean, and standard deviation—with ±0.2 dBm power accuracy and ±3% energy accuracy. Three measurement gain ranges extend dynamic range to 131 dB with an optional attenuator. An analog output with 100 kHz frequency response feeds real-time signals to oscilloscopes or voltmeters. The meter stores up to 1,000 readings per channel and includes digital and analog filtering. Bench-top or rack-mountable, it communicates via USB, GPIB, or RS-232 and accepts industry-standard fiber optic connectors through adaptors. Compatible with Germanium, Silicon, and Indium Gallium Arsenide detectors, the 1930-C operates from battery with auto power-off and displays results in Watts, Amperes, dBm, dB, or relative units.
