The cFP-CTR-502 is an 8-channel counter input module for the Compact FieldPoint system, engineered for precise event, frequency, and position measurement in industrial and laboratory environments. It delivers 16-bit counter resolution per channel with cascadable architecture supporting up to 128-bit wide counters capable of storing trillions of counts. The module integrates 4 gate input channels and 4 configurable digital output channels, all supported by optically isolated inputs with 2,300 Vrms transient overvoltage protection. Software-selectable low-pass filtering (50 kHz or 200 Hz) on count-input channels suppresses high-frequency noise while accommodating input signals up to 50 kHz maximum frequency. Gate inputs enable counting control—active when high, disabled when low. Digital outputs function as generic outputs or automatic external-device controllers with 1 A maximum load per channel. The module accepts 5 VDC to 30 VDC sourcing inputs, compatible with TTL and industrial control devices. Internal frequency references of 1 kHz and 32 kHz support timing applications. Terminal count is user-configurable with a default rollover value of 65,535 counts. Input and output terminals provide direct power distribution to field devices via VSUP and COM connections.
