The National Instruments PCI-1409 is a high-accuracy monochrome image acquisition module for PCI, PXI, and CompactPCI chassis. It digitizes analog video signals from standard and non-standard camera sources with a factory-calibrated 10-bit ADC, delivering up to 60 dB dynamic range and 1,024 gray scales. The module supports four simultaneous video inputs, accommodates pixel clocks from 2 MHz to 40 MHz, and includes an anti-chrominance filter for NTSC and PAL signals. With 16 MB onboard SDRAM, three independent DMA controllers, and scatter-gather capability, the PCI-1409 sustains continuous image transfers at up to 132 MB/s over the PCI bus. Programmable gain and offset circuits extend input signal range, while integrated genlock circuitry locks to standard video formats or external synchronization signals. Four digital I/O lines and four digital outputs enable camera control and external triggering. TTL-compatible trigger inputs and a 20 ns minimum detectable pulse width support precise timing requirements.
