NI PXI-8330 MXI-3 Interface Module

The NI PXI-8330 MXI-3 Interface Module extends a host computer’s PCI bus to remote PXI or CompactPCI chassis using high-speed serial MXI-3 technology. It creates a transparent hardware and software link, allowing the host to control remote PXI modules as if directly connected. The module supports daisy-chain and star configurations for expanding one chassis into two or linking multiple chassis across distances up to 200 meters.

MXI-3 Bridge Architecture
The PXI-8330 implements a PCI-to-PCI bridge split into two halves connected by a high-speed serial link, functioning as a standard PCI-to-PCI bridge. Serial data rate reaches 1.5 Gbit/s.

System Expansion
