The NI PXIe-1078 is a 9-slot PXI Express chassis built for high-performance test and measurement systems. It delivers up to 1.75 GB/s system bandwidth and supports both PXI Express modules and standard PXI hybrid-compatible modules, enabling flexible instrumentation configurations. The chassis features a PCI Express backplane architecture with three x1 PCIe links routed from the system slot and hybrid peripheral slots that accept both PXIe and PXI modules. Compliant with PXI timing and synchronization standards, it includes a 10 MHz system reference clock (±25 ppm accuracy, 500 ps max slot-to-slot skew) and a 100 MHz differential system clock (±25 ppm accuracy, 100 ps max slot-to-slot skew). The chassis delivers 300 W maximum total usable power (derating to 288 W at 40–50 °C ambient), with 125 W maximum on combined +3.3 V and +5 V rails (derating to 100 W at elevated temperatures) and up to 16.5 A available from the +12 V supply. Its compact form factor suits deployment in standard racks and space-constrained environments.
