The NI PXIe-5653 is a high-performance Local Oscillator (LO) synthesizer module for RF and microwave applications requiring precision signal generation and low phase noise performance. It serves as the synthesizer source within vector signal analyzer and transceiver systems, delivering continuous-wave LO signals across three independently tuned outputs. The module integrates dual onboard OCXOs—10 MHz and 100 MHz references—enabling flexible reference distribution to companion digitizer and analyzer modules. Two PXIe slots are required for deployment within a PXI Express chassis.

– Compatibility & Integration
The module mounts immediately right of the NI-5603 RF Downconverter and routes three LO outputs to corresponding LO inputs on the downconverter front panel. The 100 MHz reference output connects to the CLK IN of the NI-5622 IF Digitizer. The 10 MHz reference output connects to REF IN of the PXIe-5694. External 10 MHz reference signals may be supplied via REF IN for phase-locking to system timing.
