The NI VXIpc-872 is a Pentium III–based VXI controller delivering embedded processing power for demanding instrumentation and control applications. Operating at 450 MHz with 512 KB of Level 2 cache, this dual C-size slot module provides direct access to VXI backplane resources through custom MITE and MANTIS ASICs. The system supports PC133 memory expansion to 512 MB, offers multiple I/O interfaces including 10/100BaseTX Ethernet, Wide Ultra SCSI-3, IEEE 488.2 GPIB with HS488 protocol support, and USB connectivity. An Intel 82815 chipset with Dynamic Memory Video Technology (DMVT) enables AGP graphics output, while optional solid-state storage handles harsh-environment deployments. The controller runs Phoenix BIOS and accommodates one PCI expansion slot for either full-length or short-length cards.
