The RadiSys EPC-8 is a 32-bit VMEbus-resident embedded computer built around the Intel486 microprocessor, delivering PC/AT compatibility with full system controller functionality. It combines processor, memory, Super VGA graphics, and Ethernet on a single board, engineered for deployment in industrial and enterprise environments where reliability and expandability are non-negotiable.

• Intel486 microprocessor with on-chip math coprocessor and four-way set associative cache
• Processor options: 486SX (25 MHz), 486DX (33 MHz), or 486DX2 (50 MHz)
• 64-bit local bus providing zero-wait-state DRAM access

Memory Configuration
• Onboard DRAM: 4MB, 8MB, or 16MB (not VMEbus-accessible)
• Optional 128KB memory-mapped SRAM
• Optional 2MB flash memory with direct boot capability
• Optional 128KB battery-backed SRAM (when configured with 2MB flash)
• Hardware memory mapping: 640KB conventional memory plus 3MB to 15MB extended memory depending on DRAM configuration
