The Rohde & Schwarz HZ-15 Compact Probe Set is a passive near-field probe suite for detection and measurement of electric and magnetic fields across 30 MHz to 3 GHz. Designed for EMI source identification and pre-compliance testing, the set enables engineers to pinpoint emission hotspots on PCBs and components with high spatial resolution. All five probes connect via SMB coaxial connectors to 50 Ω test receivers, spectrum analyzers, or oscilloscopes.
– Technical Specifications
• Frequency Range: 30 MHz to 3 GHz
• Input Impedance: 50 Ω
• Probe Connectors: SMB coaxial (all probes)
– Probe Options
E-Field Probes:
• RS E-02: Trowel-shaped tip; 5 to 1500 MHz; measures approximately 2 cm × 5 cm field areas
• RS E-10: 0.2 mm tip resolution; 10 to 3000 MHz; optimized for circuit traces and IC pins
H-Field Probes:
• RS H-400-1: 2.5 cm diameter loop; 5 to 3000 MHz; 10 cm measurement distance; lowest resolution, highest sensitivity
• RS H-50-1: 1 cm diameter loop; 10 to 3000 MHz; 3 cm measurement distance; mid-range sensitivity and resolution
• RS H-2.5-2: 0.5 mm magnetically active groove; 10 to 3000 MHz; single trace or pin resolution
– Key Features
• Passive probe design requires no external power
• Five-probe configuration covers E-field and H-field measurement across all frequency bands
• Tip resolution ranges from 0.2 mm to approximately 5 cm depending on probe type
• Included 1 meter RF cable with BNC (male) to SMB (female) connectors
• Rugged plastic transport case
– Compatibility & Integration
All probes interface with standard 50 Ω laboratory receivers and analyzers. The optional Rohde & Schwarz HZ-16 preamplifier (20 dB gain, 100 kHz to 3 GHz) extends sensitivity for weak high-frequency field detection.
