The HP 70950A Optical Spectrum Analyzer (OSA) module integrates with the HP 70004A mainframe to deliver precision spectral analysis across the 600 nm to 1700 nm range. This diffraction-grating-based instrument measures optical power versus wavelength with high amplitude and wavelength accuracy while remaining polarization insensitive. The double-pass monochromator design achieves high dynamic range performance comparable to double-monochromator systems, combined with single-monochromator sensitivity. Ideal for characterizing optical components, amplifiers, LEDs, DFB lasers, and Fabry-Perot lasers, the HP 70950A operates as the HP 71450A when paired with its mainframe in the Hewlett-Packard Modular Measurement System (MMS) platform.
