The Sorrento Networks GME(-B-01) is a network element within the GigaMux family designed for high-performance optical data transport across data center interconnect, metropolitan, and enterprise environments. It aggregates and multiplexes Ethernet, SONET/SDH, and Storage Area Network traffic in native formats over DWDM and CWDM wavelength division systems.
– Technical Specifications
The GME(-B-01) operates as a modular platform with configurable line rates and protocol support. Module examples include the Data Mux Module (DMM), which aggregates Gigabit Ethernet and 1G Fibre Channel into a single 2.5G WDM wavelength. The ODC2 ULTRA card supports 16G GEN5 Fibre Channel at speeds up to 14.025 Gbps and 10 Gigabit Ethernet, with backward compatibility for 4G and 8G Fibre Channel generations. The OTN10GF card provides multiprotocol muxponder functionality with dual 10G CWDM and DWDM capabilities and line-side distances up to 100 km with FEC protection.
Wavelength compatibility extends to 200 GHz CWDM and 100 GHz DWDM spaced channels. Client and line-side interfaces use SFP-based architecture. Throughput specifications include 1.25 Gbps for Gigabit Ethernet and 1.06 Gbps for Fibre Channel per channel.
The platform supports deployment in multiple chassis configurations: GM3208 (2U, 8 slots), GM3217 (5U, 17 slots), and GigaMux 3300 Platform (100 Gb/s to 400 Gb/s line rates with advanced intelligent optics).
