The Symmetricom 6502B is a 1U rack-mount RF distribution amplifier providing ten channels of precision timing and synchronization signals across 0.1 MHz to 10 MHz. Each output delivers 1 Vrms nominal with exceptional channel isolation exceeding 130 dB and additive SSB phase noise of -160 dB at 10 kHz offset. The unit accommodates 50Ω loads via BNC connectors and maintains harmonic distortion below -40 dB with non-harmonic signals below -80 dB. Low phase noise performance—reaching -120 dB at 1 Hz offset and -155 dB at 1 kHz—makes the 6502B suitable for demanding timing applications in critical infrastructure. Daisy-chaining capability extends output capacity to over 100 channels with minimal signal degradation. Individual and summary alarm outputs with Form C relay contacts and dedicated LED indicators protect against signal loss and amplitude faults. The compact 1U form factor (19.00 × 10.00 × 1.75 inches, under 5 lb) integrates directly into standard 19-inch racks. AC powered with separately fused hot and neutral lines, the 6502B offers optional low-level input threshold configuration (Option 509, 0 dBm) for systems requiring sub-10 dBm input levels.
