The Teledyne LeCroy Frontline STA-232 is a specialized protocol analyzer for capturing, decoding, and analyzing asynchronous RS-232 serial communication. It enables real-time debugging and optimization of data transfer between serial devices through advanced protocol decoding, error detection, and flexible trigger configurations. The instrument supports baud rates to 921.6 Kbps with configurable data bits (5–8), stop bits (1–2), and parity types. Engineers gain immediate visibility into communication errors and can apply deep packet inspection using built-in decoders for Modbus, PPP, SLIP, TCP/IP, and Saia-Burgess S-Bus protocols, or write custom decoders via DecoderScript. Timestamping resolution exceeds 1 microsecond for precise event correlation.
