The Wavetek LT8600 is a high-performance LAN cable tester that validates network cabling systems to Category 6/Class E standards and beyond. It executes up to 15 individual tests or predefined test suites, delivering wire map, length, attenuation, NEXT, and advanced Power Sum measurements across a 300 MHz bandwidth. The instrument includes Time Domain Reflectometer (TDR) functionality—standard on LT8600T models—to locate faults, measure cable runs, identify embedded connectors, and display impedance versus distance in real time. Field-proven fast auto-test cycles minimize installation verification time, while onboard storage for 1500 results and LT-Record Manager software streamline documentation and certification workflows. The remote handset and integrated talkset enable efficient two-way communication during testing. UTP and STP cables are fully supported; optional FiberKit+ extends capability to single-mode and multimode fiber optic installations. An 8.4 V / 2.45 Ah NiMH battery delivers 8 hours of typical operating life per charge.
