The Xilinx DLC7 Parallel Cable IV is a high-speed download cable that interfaces a PC’s parallel port to Xilinx FPGAs, CPLDs, and ISP PROMs for device programming and configuration. Operating over an IEEE 1284 ECP-compliant parallel port, it achieves download speeds up to 5 Mb/s and supports multiple programming modes including JTAG, Xilinx Slave-Serial, and SPI protocols. The cable automatically senses and adapts to target I/O voltages spanning 1.5V to 5V, with integrated protection circuits that 3-state output buffers when target reference voltage drops below 1.3V DC.
– Technical Specifications
• Download Speed: Up to 5 Mb/s
• Host Interface: IEEE 1284 ECP Level 2 compliant parallel port
• Cable Length: Maximum 10 ft (Level 1 compliant ports); maximum 33 ft (Level 2 compliant ports)
• Target I/O Voltage Support: Automatic sensing and adaptation to 5V (TTL), 3.3V (LVTTL), 2.5V, 1.8V, and 1.5V
• Operating Current: Less than 100 mA from host; approximately 15 mA from target reference voltage bus (JTAG/Slave Serial buffers)
• Output Buffer Protection: All pins protected against continuous shorts to ground and voltages up to 5.5V DC
• Target Reference Voltage Monitoring: VREF monitoring with 3-state activation threshold of 1.3V DC
